COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., (KRDO) - Colorado College Fine Arts Center is hosting a free 'Dia De Muertos' Day of the Dead celebration, to honor and remember those who have gone before us.

Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a tradition that dates back around 3,000 years in Latin America.

It's a tradition that originated in Mexico, but has since also been celebrated across latin American.Pre-Colombian cultures such as the Aztec, Toltec, Quechua, and Mapuche, held a cyclical view of the universe in which death is an integral part of life. The idea is the dead were still members of the community and were kept alive in memory and spirit, and were welcomed back to Earth during Día de Muertos.

The celebration will take place at the Colorado College Fine Arts Center, 30 W Dale St Colorado Springs, CO 80903, and will start at 4 p.m and ends at 8 p.m.
