Falcon High School grad awarded for exemplary military service aboard USS Constitution

BOSTON, Mass. (KRDO) -- A native of Peyton, Colorado, Airman Hannah Perry was recently awarded for her exemplary military service while aboard the oldest commissioned warship that is still afloat.

Perry recently received the Blue Jacket of the Quarter while aboard the USS Constitution.

According to the Navy, the Bluejacket of the Quarter is awarded to a junior sailor who exemplifies outstanding dedication to duty and superior performance by going above and beyond their assigned job.

The USS Constitution became legendary during the War of 1812 and earned the nickname, "Old Iron Sides" because British cannon balls were reportedly seen bouncing off its sturdy hull.

Airman Perry now serves as a tour guide on the ship. She was a 2019 graduate of Falcon High School and has served in the Navy thus far for one year.
