Burglary suspect killed by Pueblo County deputy in Colorado City identified

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo County Coroner has identified the burglary suspect who was shot and killed by a Pueblo County deputy last week.

The coroner has identified the suspect as 51-year-old Troy Garcia of Colorado City.

On Wed., Oct. 5, just before midnight, deputies responded to a burglary call at a home on Santa Fe Dr. in Colorado City. When they arrived, the deputies encountered an armed suspect, and shots were fired.

The suspect was taken to the hospital where he later died. No deputies were hurt.

13 Investigates later learned that Investigators believe the suspect attempted to break into multiple homes. They obtained security camera video from a separate home on the 4700 block of Santa Fe Drive that allegedly shows the suspect holding a firearm while he tries to walk in through the front door of the home.
