Crews quickly extinguish homeless camp fire near Fountain Creek
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Tuesday afternoon, the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded to a grass fire along Fountain Creek, near Janitell Rd and E Las Vegas St.
CSFD said the fire sparked in a homeless camp and spread to the surrounding vegetation. Crews were on scene quickly and put the fire out before it grew much beyond the homeless camp.
This was the second grass fire in Colorado Springs on Tuesday. CSFD said fuels in the area (grass, other vegetation) are drying out quickly.
