Vista Ridge looks to light up the scoreboard in 2022
Vista Ridge is loaded with star power. QB Brayden Dorman is committed to Arizona, while receiver Brandon "Bebe" Hills is committed to Washington State.
Last season ended without a state championship, and this superstar roster is looking to change that in 2022.
"The entire team is disappointed," Dorman says. "It’s just because we have a way higher ceiling than anyone else thinks. It’s just a lot of work that we have to put in to be able to showcase that."
The star power makes the Wolves an easy target for doubters on social media when things don't go well. Some of them are from opposing teams.
"It is motivation, because a lot of people disrespect us," Dorman says. "We have a lot of players on this team that are really talented, and probably one of the better players in the state, and they’re highly disrespected as well. It’s funny because we all know that they’re not in our position. To me, it’s almost comical."
"We’re just in a great position," Hills says. "I think we’re blessed to be there. Some people aren’t in the same position, so they might have a little bit of spite against us. Other than that, it’s kind of like what Brayden said, it’s comical. It’s fun to look at, because we’re in a great position, and they’re not."
Dorman and Hills are one of the best quarterback-receivers duos in the state, maybe the country. Their success wouldn't be possible without a strong offensive line, which takes protecting Dorman very seriously.
"We are like the Secret Service," says left tackle AJ Jordan. "This is our president. We’ve got to protect him. When it’s time to put our suits on, we’ve got our glasses on or whatever. He’s our president, where the secret service, so we gotta protect him at all times."
Vista Ridge opens its season on August 26th against Legend.
