Inmate found dead in the Pueblo County Jail
PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A 40-year-old woman was found unresponsive in her assigned jail cell around 10 a.m. on August 9, 2022, according to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Officer (PCSO).
PCSO says that Sheriff’s deputies initiated life-saving measures but they were unsuccessful.
The woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants Monday afternoon and had been in jail for less than 24 hours, according to the PCSO.
A preliminary investigation indicated she may have had a medical issue. There were no visible signs of trauma or foul play, says the PCSO.
An autopsy is pending and the cause and manner of death along with the identity will be released by the coroner’s office.
