St. Mary’s falls in state final

St. Mary's played one of the best state championship games you will ever see, but came up short in the 2A final.

The Pirates lost 3-2 in a thriller at Rawlings Field in Pueblo.

St. Mary's opened up a 2-0 lead in the opening frame, and held the lead until the 5th inning.

In the 5th, Limon got a 3-run double from Trey Hines which gave the Badgers the lead for good.

Still, it was an incredible year for St. Mary's, which advanced to the title game for the first time in school history.
