COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The popular fast food restaurant, McDonald's is looking to hire 5,990 employees this summer in Colorado.

From part-time positions, a full-time position with flexibility, to gaining valuable work experience, the McDonald's company has opportunities to meet any candidate's needs and drive long-term success within the company or elsewhere.

“People are the heart of our business, and the skills our crew members learn in our restaurants, like responsibility, teamwork and responsiveness, can open the door to a brighter future,” said Frankie Luther, local McDonald’s Owner/Operator. “As local business owners, we’re committed to empowering our employees and the communities we serve.”

McDonald's employees have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma, take ESL classes, get tuition assistance, and receive free advisor guidance through Archways to Opportunity, McDonald’s signature education and career advising program.

In addition, McDonald's' partnership with Western Governors University (WGU) allows employees and their families a 5 percent discount on tuition and access to $2,000-$10,000 in WGU-funded scholarships.

McDonald's partnership with WGU ensures access to affordable higher education for employees.
