Pueblo Police Officer wins non-uniformed officer of the year award

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- During the 47th annual South Eastern Colorado Law Enforcement Awards, Sergeant Franklyn Ortega of the Pueblo Police Department received the award for the top non-uniformed officer of the year.

The award is prestigious and honors the region's top cops.

Wednesday, police officers and prosecutors gathered at the Pueblo Union Depot for the award ceremony.

Other awards went to Anne Mayer, the senior deputy district attorney in Pueblo, and Tom Janoski, a citizen honored for his extensive volunteer work.
