On Friday, Peak Vista honored their 2021 Family Residency Program graduates with a celebratory breakfast at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. This is Peak Vista's third graduating class since the program launched in 2016. Program Director Scott Robinson says 65 percent of those who graduate from their program stay to practice in the Colorado Springs area.

The graduates of the Class of 2021 are:

• Matthew Bonello, DO
• Brian Failla, DO
• David Falcocchia, DO
• Kathleen Spencer, DO

Peak Vista's Family Residency program is the only one of its kind in the Pikes Peak area. It is a three-year program for those aspiring to become physicians and practice medicine.

According to data published by the Association of American Medical Colleges, the United States could see an estimated shortage of 37,800 and 124,000 physicians by 2034 both in primary and specialty care.
