Mother arrested in Denver faces murder charges for 7-year-old sons death in Las Vegas
DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the woman, who police say is the suspect in her son's death, was found and arrested in Denver.
LVMPD says Samantha Moreno Rodriguez, 35, was arrested Tuesday in Denver by the Denver Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force led by the FBI.
On the morning of June 8, 2021, Samantha Moreno Rodriguez, 35, was arrested in Denver, Colorado by the Denver Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force led by the @FBIDenver. Police say Rodriguez will be booked into an area jail pending extradition to Las Vegas. She faces a murder charge for the death of her son.
According to ABC News, 7-year-old Liam Hustead was found near a highway outside of Las Vegas on May 28. His body was found by hikers. Police initially asked the public for help identifying his body.
Police told ABC News it was clear the boy was killed, but did not say the official cause of death.
