Pair of concerts happening Memorial Day Weekend at Weidner Field

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Concert-goers will get to experience a historic Latin music festival and a country music concert at Weidner Field over Memorial Day Weekend.

Preparations took place for the first concert at Weidner Field early Friday.

The concert that kicks off the weekend features a plethora of Latin artists who are visiting Colorado Springs for the first time. The artists include Lupillo Rivera, Chiquis Rivera, Luis Coronel, Flor Amargo , Rocio La Dama de la Cumbia and Los Rieleros Del Norte.

The Latin Concert Festival is something that has been in the works since July 2020.

KRDO NewsChannel 13 and Telemundo Surco's own Jasmine Arenas will be introducing one of the acts at Switchbacks Stadium Friday night.

Saturday night, concert-goers can expect a country music concert that will be featuring country music star, Justin Moore.

According to Switchbacks Entertainment, these two concerts are meant to give fans a little taste of what is to come from the Switchbacks Stadium.

KRDO spoke to Moni Hernandez with Switchbacks Entertainment who says though this was a difficult task to come to fruition, she's glad everything worked out.
