Arapahoe County Sheriff welcomes newest therapy dog

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The newest member of the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department was sworn in on Wednesday.

Meet 10-week-old Rex, a black lab puppy who will be the department's new therapy dog at Littleton Public Schools. He was sworn in Wednesday by Sheriff Tyler Brown.

Rex is the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department's first therapy dog. He will be teamed up with school resource officer Deputy John Gray.

Gray and Rex will work with students with special needs, be a comfort to students in times of crisis, or during times of stress. Rex will also help students who suffer from mental health struggles like anxiety or depression.
