Coors Field increasing capacity

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- Even more fans are going to be allowed in the stands at Coors Field.

Friday, the Colorado Rockies announced the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment approved to increase Coors Field capacity to 70%. Starting June 1, capacity goes from 21,363 to 35,000.

"This announcement is a great way to kick off the summer and welcome even more fans back to LoDo and Coors Field," said Rockies President Greg Feasel. "We want to again thank the City and County of Denver, their health officials, along with MLB for partnering with us to get to this point, as we continue to ensure that we provide a safe and enjoyable environment for our fans."

When it comes to masks, Coors Field will be operating under the variance at 42.6% capacity through Sunday, May 16. That mandates wearing a mask when inside Coors Field.

The Rockies will begin selling tickets for home games for June 1 through 10 starting on May 17.
