Three Pueblo men arrested in gang-related incidents, including drive-by shootings
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Detectives from the Pueblo Police Department arrested three men suspected in several gun and gang-related incidents, including multiple drive-by shootings.
On Wednesday, Mateo Velez, 22, and brothers Robert Lagunas, 24, and Andrew Lagunas, 21, were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center.
Velez was arrested for Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender which stemmed from an incident that occurred in December of 2020. According to Pueblo police, he's been arrested eight times since 2011.
Robert and Andrew were arrested for Felony Menacing. At the time of the arrest, Robert was out on bond for a Criminal Attempt to Commit First-Degree Murder charge that stemmed from an incident that happened in January.
Police say both brothers have been named in multiple drive-by shootings.
As of May 6, police say there have ben 67 reported drive-by shootings in the City of Pueblo in 2021.
The Pueblo Police Department says they are devoting resources and conducting operations to combat this issue. Police say while they believe a small number of individuals are responsible for the majority of the drive-by shootings,
