Body found after Colorado Springs structure fire
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs police are working on an arson and homicide case at 22 W. Cheyenne Road after a structure fire Monday.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the fire at 5:40 p.m. CSFD reported heavy smoke conditions were coming from a smaller structure behind the main home on the property.

Crews had the fire under control in about 10 minutes and checked the house at least twice for anyone inside.
It wasn't until about 20 minutes after the fire was out that firefighters discovered the victim behind the building.
The victim's injuries appeared unrelated to the fire, so investigators with CSPD were then called in.
CSPD says the El Paso County Coroner's Office will make the official cause of death, however, the death at this time is being investigated as a homicide.
According to police, this is the 16th homicide investigation in 2021, CSPD investigated 18 homicides this time last year.
