Deputies investigate vehicle break-in near Widefield

WIDEFIELD, Colo. (KRDO) -- Deputies are investigating a vehicle break-in near Widefield on Monday in which the burglar was caught on camera.

Around 3:13 a.m., the suspect was recorded breaking into the tool box of a truck bed on the 5600 block of Alturas Drive. The suspect is seen taking several trips to the truck and stealing more than $1300 worth of tools. The burglar then left the scene in an SUV.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office released the photos below of the suspect and their vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a baseball cap, hooded sweater, jeans, and tennis shoes. The suspect vehicle is described as a smaller sized white sports utility vehicle, possibly a 2019 model Ford EcoSport.
