Colorado Springs impound lot temporarily closes due to COVID-19 outbreak

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department says its impound facility is temporarily closed due to a coronavirus outbreak.
Police initially said the impound lot located at 2725 E Las Vegas would be closed until Nov. 19, now the closure has been extended through Monday, Nov. 23.
Community members won't be able to retrieve their vehicles or property during this time, but vehicles won't accrue storage fees while the facility is closed.
If you'd like to confirm whether your vehicle was towed, police say you should call their non-emergency dispatch number at 719-444-7000 to confirm. It may take several days for a vehicle to show up in CSPD's system.
If you have additional urgent questions, you can contact the impound at impoundfacility@coloradosprings.gov.
