Police identify victim who was fatally shot while driving in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The county coroner identified the victim of Monday's fatal shooting as 31-year-old Daniel Garcia of Colorado Springs.

Police say Garcia was driving with a female passenger along the 3400 block of Montebello Drive West on Monday evening. The pair were traveling southbound when an unknown suspect fired at Garcia's vehicle, striking him. The female passenger was not injured.

The Colorado Springs Police Department says this is the 33rd homicide investigation of 2020. CSPD investigated 21 homicides at this time last year.
