Man arrested in carjacking at Fountain Walmart

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Fountain Police Department says a man was arrested Tuesday in connection to a carjacking that happened at a Walmart parking lot.

On Sept. 23, officers found a stolen vehicle at a mobile home park in Fountain. The vehicle had reportedly been carjacked at a Walmart parking lot about 10 days earlier.

Police apprehended 39-year-old Tory Nelson along with the stolen vehicle. He was currently on parole and officers found further evidence including a handgun, which tied Nelson to other robberies committed in the Colorado Springs and El Paso County areas.

Nelson was taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery, motor vehicle theft, felony menacing and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
