Colorado Springs man with gun and multiple felonies found sleeping in a car

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of West Fontanero Street on Sunday.

Upon arrival, police say they found a man sleeping inside the car with a handgun in his lap. After other officers arrived to assist, police detained the man without incident.

Upon running a check, they discovered he had multiple felony convictions and was currently out on bond on seven other felony cases. A search of the vehicle revealed 23.46 grams of methamphetamine, 1.5 grams of heroin, and three pills suspected of containing oxycodone and fentanyl.

The suspect was identified as Christopher Kirby and was arrested for various weapons and narcotics charges on an increased bond.
