Canon City Police warns of pills cut with fentanyl after near-fatal overdoses

percocet fentanyl

CANON CITY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Canon City Police Department put out a warning for people buying street drugs about pills of Percocet being mixed with fentanyl.

Officers were called to two reports of near fatal overdoses in the past few days, and they found the individuals had taken a pill called "Perc 30," which is a 30 milligram Percocet tablet.

But investigators say the Percocet tablets have been crushed and mixed with fentanyl, which is a synthetic opioid that can be lethal when doses aren't controlled.

Police say the pills are dangerous to touch. If you see one of them, call local police immediately.
