‘Thorpe Fire’ in Park County prompts evacuations

PARK COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Multiple agencies responded Sunday afternoon to a growing wildfire in Park County.
The "Thorpe Fire" was reported just after 1 p.m. Sunday and was estimated at the time to be about 150 acres. On Monday, the fire was mapped to be about 83 acres.
The wildfire is located about two miles southwest of Tarryall and multiple agencies are responding to extinguish the flames.
Mandatory evacuations are in place for people in the Webber Park Subdivision and campers on County Road 31 and surrounding Forest Service roads. Forest Service Roads 227 and 231 and County Road 44 are closed.

A bulldozer, a type three helicopter, three large air tankers, and a very large air tanker along with about 100 firefighters are on the scene.
