Search and rescue team evacuating one person injured at Pikes Peak

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A search and rescue team was called to help evacuate a couple of people from the north side of Pikes Peak after one of them suffered an injury.

Members of El Paso County Search and Rescue, Teller County SAR, Flight for Life, and the U.S. Army Reserve Aviation Medivac have been trying to evacuate two people stranded on "difficult terrain."

A spokesperson said the team is trying to evacuate a subject who has a possible broken ankle and head injury.

A total of 23 rescuers have been working for more than 15 hours since the incident was reported Wednesday evening.
