83-year-old man’s death in Colorado Springs being investigated as homicide

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs Police said Friday that a death that happened last week is being investigated as a homicide, though no criminal charges have been filed.

Police say they got a call to a home in the 500 block of Custer Ave last Wednesday and found a man dead along with a woman who was injured.

CSPD identified the victim as 83-year-old Gilbert Sandoval of Colorado Springs, but it's not yet clear what led to his death. CSPD said that the case is still an active investigation.

The injured woman was taken to the hospital and released.
