Police: Child accidentally shot inside Fountain home
FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KRDO) -- Fountain police confirmed it was an accidental shooting that claimed the life of a 12-year-old girl inside a home in Fountain on Wednesday.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office confirmed that multiple units were called to a home on Kasson Drive for a reported shooting around 5:45 p.m.
According to emergency dispatchers, the victim was shot in the face.
One off-duty El Paso County deputy was reported to be at the scene shortly after the shooting call and was performing CPR on the victim, but she was pronounced deceased from the gunshot wound.
