Money Matters: Colorado meat prices could be on the decline
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Good news for your wallet, experts say Colorado meat prices may have peaked and could start lowering once again.
Higher meat prices and limits on how much meat you can buy began during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The big issue was that meat plants were operating at a fraction of their usual output, with fewer employees working.
According to the Colorado Cattleman's Association, processing plants are now working at 80-85% capacity, and there are more cattle being harvested.
The Colorado Farm Bureau agrees the supply is starting to recover. Some experts say beef prices in the grocery store will start to soften.
