Police notify neighbors of sexually violent predators on parole
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — The Colorado Springs Police Department is warning the community about two sexually violent predators who have moved to new addresses in Colorado Springs.
The notifications are required by Colorado law. The police department alerted neighbors and businesses surrounding the offenders’ home.
Robert Carlos Vargas-Delao moved to 2633 Summit Drive in east Colorado Springs near Palmer Park. In 2017, he was convicted of sexual assault on a child in El Paso County, according to police. He is now under parole supervision.
Shane Worth Poteet is also living at 2633 Summit Drive. In 2016, he was convicted of attempted sexual assault on a child in Prowers County District Court, according to police. He is also under parole supervision.
There are 18 offenders classified as “sexually violent predators” currently registered with the Colorado Springs Police Department and living in the city.
