WINDSOR, Colo. - Colorado authorities say a 13-year-old boy has died after the canoe he was in with his younger brother flipped in windy conditions on Rock Bridge Lake in Windsor.

The Coloradoan reported that Windsor Severance Fire Rescue responded Thursday to find the 8-year-old brother on shore wearing his life jacket. The other brother who was not wearing a life jacket was missing.

Rescue Chief Kris Kazian says crews were unable to conduct immediate rescue operations after winds up to 30 mph picked up on the lake. Authorities say a search and rescue dog alerted crews to a potential location where they later found his body. The Weld County coroner’s office is expected to identify the teenager.
