Malls in Colorado Springs open for curbside pickup

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Citadel and Chapel Hills malls opened for curbside pickup Monday.

The malls have begun the reopening phase by offering curbside pickup and shortening their hours. Citadel and Chapel Hills malls are open 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Mall employees are equipped with protective equipment and must take their temperature before going into work.

Though the mall has reopened, some stores like Macy's have decided to remain closed.

If you decide to make a purchase from a store that is open, all payments should be done over the phone or internet if possible.

When customers arrive for curbside pickup, employees will put the purchased item in the customer's backseat or trunk.

There is no estimated time of when the Chapel Hills and Citadel malls will reopen.

When the malls do reopen, customers can expect social distancing and directed traffic flow markers all throughout the building. There will also be limits on the number of people in the food courts and common areas.
