Realtors resume in-person showings, open houses still prohibited
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Per Governor Jared Polis' safer at home order, in-person real estate showings resumed on Monday, April 27, with strict precautions.
The rules include no meetings of more than 10 people, people must maintain social distancing guidelines and the requirement of gloves and face masks for any in-person interaction in third party homes.
Open houses are still not allowed.
Amidst these changes, Colorado Springs was named the No. 1 market in the country for the second month in a row, according to Realtor.com. The ranking is tallied by the hottest markets for real estate in the U.S., based on where buyers are clicking the most on listings and were homes spend the fewest days on the market.
KRDO spoke with Justin Hermes, from the Hermes Team Re/Max Properties. He says Colorado Springs currently has 1,300 homes on the market right now, with an uptick expected in September.
