Some Colorado Springs businesses still hiring during coronavirus pandemic

Now Hiring

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Amid record-high unemployment numbers nationwide, some businesses in Colorado Springs are still hiring.

The Pikes Peak Work Center will be hosting a virtual fair for hundreds of jobs until April 30. Candidates should be older than 18 years and can expect many of the jobs to be listed as essential businesses during the coronavirus.

In the week ending on April 18, an additional 4.4 million people filed for a first-time unemployment claim in the United States.

Within the state of Colorado, a total of 279,199 people have filed initial claims in the past four weeks. There were 67,334 unemployment claims last week, according to Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

KRDO will be taking to a spokesperson for the Pikes Peak Work Center to learn more about the hiring process and the types of jobs available. Check back later for updates.
