LeTecia Stauch in custody in El Paso County
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - After Extradition from South Carolina, Letecia Stauch has been booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center
Stauch is charged with Murder in the First-Degree (Child Under Twelve-Position of Trust), Child Abuse Resulting in Death Tampering with a Deceased Human Body, and Tampering with Physical Evidence in connection to the disappearance of 11-year-old Gannon Stauch.
Records show Stauch's transport made a brief stop Saline County Jail in Kansas. She left their custody at 1:54 a.m. MST and headed to Colorado.
During a video advisement, her defense attorney told the judge she did not need her charges to read aloud to her again.
For Stauch's next court hearing, she will be escorted to the El Paso County courthouse for a "first appearance" where she will be officially charged.
4th Judicial Senior Deputy District Attorney Michael Allen said they are not releasing information on what allowed investigators to arrest Stauch.
"The arrest warrant is still being sealed, so I'm not going to talk about the fact or the case going forward," he said.
