CDOT replacing signs on I-25 in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Starting Tuesday night, The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin removing and replacing roadway signs.

The sign replacement project will be along Interstate 25 from mile point 136.94 (around S. Academy) to mile point 146.6 (near Garden of the Gods Rd.).

The project is expected to be completed at the end of June 2020.

According to CDOT, the project will improve safety by replacing damaged and missing signs. The new signs will have better reflectivity at night to help motorists navigate the highway safely.

Motorists can expect north and southbound lane closures and 10-minute delays Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Along with shoulder closures in either direction Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Remember to take it slow through the cone zone. Watch for workers and obey the posted speed limits.
