Colorado man creates app to carpool to the mountains, find ski buddies
Colo. (KRDO) -- Don't like skiing alone? Frustrated by the usual I-70 hassle? Looking for an après ski crew? There's an app for that.
SkiBuds is a free app built by Stephen Phillips of Frisco, Colorado, whose stated mission is to make the skiing experience more enjoyable.
It's a social networking app that caters to skiers and boarders, enabling them to meet up on the mountain or coordinate carpools from 16 metropolitan areas -- including Colorado Springs and Denver.
Within the app, users can filter by departure city, ski pass and skiing ability to fit their individual needs.
Once you've established a game plan in one of the many public chat channels, users can open a private message to nail out the details.
Currently, the app features dozens of ski areas in the United States and Canada, but Phillips says he's adding more all the time.
SkiBuds is available for download on both the App Store and Google Play.
