Children’s Hospital Colorado Springs expands after only six months
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Just six months after opening their doors, the Children's Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs is ready to open a couple more.
"We are adding an urgent care downtown Cimarron and Tejon," said hospital president Margaret Sabin. "It's an excellent location for the families who access us. Furthermore, we are expanding our therapy services, with out move to our Telstar location. That will including additional behavioral health."
This will also include their expanded sports medicine programs. Plus, Children's Colorado is also adding 16 beds to the Springs hospital, and expanding the outpatient and specialty care location to accommodate 27 new exam rooms.
It's all a huge indicator of the quick growth Children's Colorado has seen in their short time open.
"We've been experiencing high volumes. We're thrilled that we're meeting the needs of the community, but it's time to expand a little sooner than we planned," said Sabin.
The hospital is about 80 percent full, a promising factor that influenced the decision to expand.
Construction of each new development in their plan will begin this year.
