Community near Woodland Park without water for close to a month
TELLER COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- It's been nearly a month since a family near Woodland Park says they've had water.
The organization supplying their water, Tranquil Acres Water Supply, says it's all because they're experiencing low water levels.
Jamie and her family live right outside the Woodland Park city limits. She says for the past 29 days, neither she nor her neighbors at Tranquil Acres have had water.
She says for the past few weeks, her family has been using jugs of water they're getting from a friend. They've also been using snow to flush their toilets.
The company in charge of supplying them the basic necessity is just feet away, but Jamie says she hasn't been able to get a hold of anyone who can explain what is going on.
When we called, we were greeted with a message saying they were running low on water in their tank and the community could experience low water pressure or no water.
But Jamie says that still doesn't bring her any answers and her patience is running low not knowing when her water will turn back on.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, the Community Cupboard Food Pantry will allow residents of Tranquil Acres to fill a few water jugs per family.
