Snowy weekend begins in Southern Colorado
Winter weather conditions began early Saturday morning in the Monument area, with accumulation and heavy wind starting as early at 5 AM.
Around 6:15 in the morning, snow began to fall in the Colorado Springs area, whitening up the roadways for a short amount of time.
The small band of snow moving through the Colorado Springs area, although short, was strong enough to potentially cause a rollover crash eastbound on Garden of the Gods Road, just east of 30th.
Colorado Springs police told our own Dan Beedie, there were no injuries in this accident, but it was caused by speed and icy road conditions on Garden of the Gods Road. The driver was from out of town, and not familiar with winter weather conditions.
Check back with KRDO for updates on the storm.
