Pueblo County deputies arrest man for multiple offenses after reports of shots fired
PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. -- Pueblo County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a 47-year-old man for multiple offenses after responding to an incident in Pueblo West early Sunday.
A family member called the Sheriff's Office to report that the suspect, Matthew Kelley, had come to the home and threatened to kill himself before firing a gun outside the front door of the home. Kelley had begun knocking on the door around 1:30 a.m., family members told deputies, and after he was let inside he pulled out two handguns and threatened to kill himself.
Kelley then went to the front door and fired four shots outside the home into the ground, according to the Sheriff's Office. He left the home and drove away in truck only to return moments later. He told a family member that he had hit something with his truck.
When deputies arrived on scene in the 100 block of E. Falcon Drive, they took Kelley into custody and discovered that he had hit a Subaru parked outside a residence in the neighborhood.
Kelley was arrested for prohibited use of weapon, reckless endangerment, harassment, domestic violence, DUI, failure to notify police of an accident and several traffic offenses.
