A suspicious death in a quiet neighborhood has left neighbors asking questions Monday. Around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, police found a woman dead in the 6000 Block of Bow River Drive.
Lt. Jim Sokolik said, “CSPD received information that there was a deceased party inside the residence in the 6000 Block of Bow River Drive. Officers responded to that residence, made entry and locate a deceased female. Based on evidence on scene this is considered a suspicious death.”
Adria Lopour, who lives just two doors down from where the deceased female was found, said she can’t believe this happened in her neighborhood.
“Shocked, even the police officer said this is a great neighborhood,” Lopour said.
She then would go on to describe the scene and what she witnessed.
“We kind of just watched the scene unfold. More and more cop cars kept coming and then an ambulance came it was only there for a couple of seconds, so we figured it wasn’t good news. Then, later that night a police officer came to the door and let us know that there was a female who was in the home that had passed,” said Lopour.
However, even though they are investigating this as a homicide, Sokolik believes the community is secure.
“We do not believe there is a current threat, no,” said Sokolik.
Detectives from the police homicide/assault unit responded to the scene and assumed responsibility. If anyone has any information, please contact the police.
