Southern Colorado mayors gather at Colorado State Fair
Pueblo Mayor Nicholas Gradisar invited 37 mayors from cities in Southern Colorado to gather at the Colorado State Fair on Saturday.
“You know I’m a newly elected mayor so I thought this was an opportunity for me to bring people to town and meet them,” Gradisar said.
John Suthers, the mayor of Colorado Springs, said the gathering was a great way to build more relations across cities and strengthen the community.
“It’s fun for me,” Suthers said. “There’s some folks from small towns from southeast Colorado I don’t see very often so it’s fun.”
Jane Newberry, the mayor of Green Mountain Falls, said this was a no-business event that built camaraderie among the elected officials.
“It’s fun to see our peers from other towns and it’s really such a great time to really showcase Southern Colorado,” Newberry said.
