Gas prices continue to decline, Labor Day sees lowest price in three years
If you’re traveling this weekend for Labor Day, we have some good news for you. Gas prices are the lowest they have been for the holiday weekend in three years.
Patrick DeHaan with Gas Buddy said, “Gas prices now [are] about 30 cents lower than last year. Price around 2.44 a gallon, that’s not too shabby at all.”
So what’s the reasoning for this? DeHaan explains it stems from oil.
“The price of oil has been down as it relates to U.S. Trade tension, so that’s really what’s fueling the lower prices,” said DeHaan.
Gas prices are expected to continue to decline.
DeHaan said, “It’s not impossible that somewhere in the state that we see gas prices fall under two dollars by the end of the year.”
And if hitting the road, DeHaan wants people to remember to shop around to find that lowest price. Don’t settle for the first gas station you see.
