Colorado Springs police identify couple killed in motorcycle crash

Colorado Springs police identified the two people killed in a crash between a motorcycle and a Jeep Thursday on Woodmen Road.

CSPD says 30-year-old Justin Thomas and his wife, 32-year-old Samantha Thomas, were killed in the crash.

Police say the Thomases were on a motorcycle that had exited Interstate 25 onto eastbound Woodmen Road. The motorcycle was splitting lanes between vehicles while going at “a high rate of speed.” When the motorcycle got to the intersection of Vincent, the couple crashed into a Jeep that was turning south to Vincent Drive.

The Jeep and the motorcycle both caught fire, and the Thomases were killed at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

The crash is still under investigation.
