Colorado Springs Airport making progress on post-fire repairs
It’s been over a year since a fire broke out at the Colorado Springs Airport and repairs have been coming along well.
The repairs have primarily been made to the check-in and baggage claim areas, starting immediately after the fire in April of last year.
“We have completed the second and third floor. We’ve added all new flooring, and raised the ceilings and that will give us a new open feel,” said airport communications specialist Dana Schield.
The airport administration plans to work on the first floor next, raising the ceiling and adding new escalators and LED lighting.
There is no scheduled time for the renovations and repairs to be done, but if you’re traveling, prepare to see many more changes in the coming months and years.
