Labor Day gas prices drop, lowest in 3 years

Many people will take to the roads this Labor Day weekend, and they won’t need to break the bank to do so.

According to GasBuddy, gas prices are set to be 30 cents per gallon lower nationwide this Labor Day compared to last year.

The gas analyst app predicts a national average of $2.55/gallon. Currently, in Colorado Springs, the average price of gas is $2.43/gallon.

Gas prices are expected to increase into fall before dropping during the winter months. By Thanksgiving, GasBuddy estimates that many gas stations primarily in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi and Missouri will drop under $2/gallon, barring any improvement in U.S. trade relations with China.
