Community hosts benefit concert for musician maimed by impaired driver
After being struck by a suspected drunk driver earlier this summer, Colorado Springs musician Mike Elmore listened on as bands performed to raise money for his medical expenses.
A woman driving on Colorado Ave. hit Elmore while he was unloading music gear outside of a bar.
Elmore lost part of his leg after the crash, and he also recently learned that he has colon cancer.
In response, the local music scene has pulled together for several events to raise money for Elmore’s medical expenses, which keep piling up since the crash.
