Heavy thunderstorms expected for parts of Southern Colorado – 8/22/19
TODAY: Our weather looks nice until thunderstorms move in during the early afternoon. These pop up over the mountains and along I-25 between 1 and 3pm today. Locally heavy rain, burn scar flash flooding and frequent lightning will be the biggest threats with any strong storms. Small hail is also possible. Highs today will be nice and comfortable and will top off in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
TONIGHT: Storms and showers linger over the Eastern Plains through midnight before we get into clearing. Lows cool to the 50s tonight.
EXTENDED: The rest of the week brings less rain and storm coverage. A handful of storms look likely on Friday with dry, hot weather returning for the weekend.
