Caon City police reunite service dog with owner

Mike Slocum and his service dog Hank were reunited Wednesday after being apart for seven days.

Hank escaped from Slocum’s home on August 13 and was nowhere to be found.

Community Service Officers and the Salida Police Department searched for Hank and investigated multiple tips. It wasn’t until a woman in Salida found Hank and recognized him from a local newspaper. She turned him over to Community Service Officers.

Hank was scanned for his microchip which confirmed his identity. After being gone for seven days, Hank and Slocum were reunited.
