Vehicle takes heart-pounding tumble at Black Bear Pass

Black Bear Pass will be closed until at least Thursday to allow for the safe removal of an overturned car on steep terrain, the San Miguel Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

In a series of pictures posted to Twitter by the Sheriff’s Office, an overturned vehicle appears to have rolled down a steep incline, coming to a stop precariously close to a cliff’s edge.

Officials say Bridal Veil Road will remain open to the top of the popular Bridal Veil Falls.
