Texas ‘cowboy’ employee ties up robbery suspect at 7-Eleven
An employee fought off an armed robbery suspect by tying him up at the 7-Eleven in Oak Cliff where he works Tuesday night, report our news partners KUSA.
Police responded to a report of an armed robbery shortly after 11 p.m. at the store in the 1100 block of West Kiest Boulevard near South Polk Street.
According to law enforcement, the suspect tried to rob the store and attempted to stab the employee with a screwdriver. A fight ensued, but the clerk happened to be a cowboy.
That’s when he grabbed a rope and tied up the suspect until police arrived.
The store clerk told police that he is a cowboy from West Texas. Police said the suspect was so tightly bound that they had to use a knife to cut him loose, according to KUSA.
The clerk was treated for minor injuries by paramedics at the scene.
